TSE Concert Series presents 'An evening with The Blind Sides and Must Stash Hat'

An unseasonably mild Saturday afternoon set the stage for an evening of sizzling music at The Hideout on Queen St W. presented by the TSE Concert Series. It must be mentioned that The Hideout staff were diligent and helpful throughout the course of the evening. From bar-backs to sound techs, everyone did their job and did it well. The Hideout team served the over 100 in attendance with perfect attitude and efficiency. The TSE Concert Series applauds The Hideout for being a great venue.

With the evening prepped for take off, Must Stash Hat confidently took the stage. The bands seasoned live act shined from the get go delivering a funk energy blast to the room. Matt, Nick and Rich combine on an almost telepathic level to create a sound that gives you no choice but to get up and move. These guys could play for miles. Their love of what they do is obvious and creates an undeniable connection with the audience. So many times during the Must Stash Hat performance I was amazed by the fullness of sound the band pushed through the amps. This trio plays like an incendiary funk-rock monster. Must Stash Hat is another of this cities super talented indie bands. A group that begs the question - what is the magic element that translates true artistic talent into mainstream success?

As The Hideout continued to fill, The Blind Sides moved front and centre. The Blind Sides are a 5 piece alternative rock band who sport great vocal harmonies and radio-friendly song writing. With two multi-instrumentalists in the group, the band brilliantly incorporated several sounds throughout the set without compromising the consistency of their music. The Blind Sides performance took on a life of its own as they seamlessly transitioned from harder rock sounds to more melodic ballads. Songs like the country infused 'I Don't Want to Let Love Get in the Way' showed off the bands versatility and kept the crowd on its toes.

The Blind Sides' on stage camaraderie was a delight to witness. Constant interaction generated a positively infectious energy that was passed to the crowd. With the audience in the palm of their hand, The Blind Sides finished their set with an encore performance of 'When You Want Something'. A closing tune with great energy performed to leave the fans wanting more. The crowd drowned out the final note resonating from the PA with their applause. A much deserved ovation for a great rock performance. Watch out for The Blind Sides Toronto.
